Age policy

I need to know that you are who you say you are and that you are as old as you say you are! So I need you to bring ID when you come and see me, preferably something with a photograph.  And if you are a parent bringing a child, I need ID for both of you to make sure that you really are the parent. (Sorry but this is an insurance requirement and is for your own protection!)

Ear lobes

Age 7 to 18 with parental consent (requires ID of both child and parent to confirm relationship). Over 18 requires ID

Ear cartilage, navel and nose piercing

Age 13 to 18 with parental consent (requires ID of both child and parent to confirm relationship). Over 18 requires ID

Tongue piercing

Age 18 and upwards (requires ID)

Surface piercing (including nipple)

Age 18 and upwards (requires ID)

Cheek piercing

Age 21 and upwards (requires ID)*

* So why do you have to be 21 for me to pierce your cheeks? Unfortunately, there are several very significant structures in this region of the face, not just blood vessels which should be easy to avoid but also nerves and the parotid duct (which delivers saliva from the parotid gland to the mouth). Piercing into any of these can be disastrous and leave you with permanent leaking, dimpling and scarring . I'm not a fan of this piercing and would rather not do it.
